TFI Local Link provides a nationwide bus service in rural areas around Ireland with a significant focus on providing accessible transport options for passengers. TFI Local Link Kerry and the National Transport Authority objective is to continue the further enhancement of services operating in the Dingle area in early 2021.
Alan O’ Connell, Local Link Kerry General Manager outlined “It is our intention, in early 2021, to increase the level of public transport services on offer for all the surrounding villages of Dingle. These service increases will bring greater connectivity of the outlying villages and townlands to Dingle as well as ensuring that further connections can be made with Bus Éireann bus services for onward travel to and from Tralee.”
“This service will continue to provide a valuable public transport service in West Kerry” says Rural Transport Programme Manager Margaret Malone: “Providing a decent public transport option for people in rural areas is a critical element of what the National Transport Authority is about. TFI Local Link is already a great success story and has become a permanent part of Ireland’s public transport system”
The Government’s ‘Ireland2040’ plan makes a commitment to the future funding of TFI Local Link, which means that the programme will not only survive, but will thrive and develop at the heart of rural communities in the years to come..
