  1. Service Specification

Kerry Community Transport CLG t/a Local Link Kerry’s services are open to all members of the public. The services were developed for rural communities who did not have access to public transport services.
Kerry Community Transport CLG t/a Local Link Kerry’s services operate semi flexible routes to a timetable and can deviate up to 2 miles to collect customers at their own doors. Services are provided by local private bus operators.
Kerry Community Transport CLG t/a Local Link Kerry also works with other organisations in the county in the co-ordination and integration of transport.

  1. Passenger Membership

All Passengers that require a deviation and to be picked up at a specific location that is not a main Bus Stop must register with Kerry Community Transport CLG t/a Local Link Kerry and complete a Passenger Membership Form. This form can be requested from our office or can be completed over the phone.
Information provided on this form will be held by Kerry Community Transport CLG t/a Local Link Kerry and the National Transport Authority and is intended to be used for the sole intention of passengers travelling on services.
All passengers have a right to see the data held by Kerry Community Transport CLG t/a Local Link Kerry on file. Please see our GDPR & Data Protection Statement on line www.locallinkkerry.ie/gdpr-and-data-protection-statement/ or ring us and we can send one to you.
All registered passengers will receive a Data Privacy Statement when registering or if any personal details on file are changed.

  1. Passenger Booking Seats

Passengers are advised to book their seats in advance so as to ensure that there is a seat available to them to travel and so that the bus route can be planned for the morning.
Passengers book their seats by calling the Kerry Community Transport CLG t/a Local Link Kerry Call Centre when they want to travel on (066) 7147002.
A Passenger can book their seat any day but are advised to ring no later than 4.30pm the evening before they are due to travel.
The Call Centre is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm with an answering machine that operates outside of these hours. Please note that messages left on the answering machine are checked during office hours. Our offices are closed during Bank Holidays.

  1. Passenger Safety Obligation

6.1 Passengers must wear safety belts where they are fitted. The seat belt must not be removed until the bus has come to a complete stop.
6.2 Passengers should not walk around the bus while it is in motion and must never get off while the bus is in motion.
6.3 Passengers must follow the safety instructions of the driver or passenger assistant in the event of a fire or other serious accident.
6.4 Children must not be carried on the knee and must be seated in a baby/child seat if available in buses. The bus operator may refuse to carry small children if appropriate child restraints and seating are not available or if the equipment is not capable of being fitted securely and safely.
6.5 The driver has the right to refuse to carry awkward or heavy items of shopping if the driver is expected to lift them in and out of the bus or to the passenger’s home.
6.6 Horseplay will not be tolerated.

  1. Waiver

While every effort is made by Kerry Community Transport CLG t/a Local Link Kerry to ensure the full operation of all bus services advertised by them at all times, Kerry Community Transport CLG t/a Local Link Kerry will not be liable for any delay or interruption in any of its services where such delay or interruption is caused by reason of matters beyond its control.
Kerry Community Transport CLG t/a Local Link Kerry will not accept any responsibility for loss of or damage to property belonging to a passenger, which is lost or stolen while travelling on a Kerry Community Transport CLG t/a Local Link Kerry contracted service.
