Introducing TFI Anseo – Smart, Flexible Transport in Killarney
The National Transport Authority (NTA) has announced the launch of a new Smart Demand-Responsive Transport (DRT) pilot in Killarney, set to commence operations from Monday 11th August 2025.
The Killarney pilot will introduce a flexible, technology-enabled public transport service which aims to alleviate traffic and improve access to essential services, including medical appointments, social events and retail areas.
What is TFI Anseo
TFI Anseo is a new way to get your bus. Rather than operating to a fixed route and schedule, buses will cover a designated Killarney zone.
Download the TFI Anseo app, add your pickup and destination locations, and the bus will come to you.

TFI Anseo Killarney service hours and booking information
The TFI Anseo bus service operates
- 6:30am to 11:00pm – 7 days a week
- across the area highlighted in the Map below (Map also available on the App)
- Passenger Bookings are made through the App On Demand – you request your ride there and then
- In the event we can’t travel directly to you (for example if roads in the estate are too narrow), the app will suggest the nearest accessible pick-up point.
Passengers can book on-demand rides using the TFI Anseo App within the area highlighted in green on the map.

Note all cash fares are capped at a maximum of €3.
Children under 9* go free and Free Travel Passes are accepted. Discounted fares for a Child (9-18) Young Adults (19-25) and Students. *For a child (5-8), they will need a leap card to avail of this. The application process is quick and easy. Apply now at leapcard.ie
This is a one-year pilot programme operated by TFI Local Link Kerry is designed to make local travel more convenient and accessible.
